Qatar Charity Presents Relief Supplies to NADMO to Aid Flood Victims

Qatar Charity, in collaboration with NADMO, has donated a wide range of relief items to residents affected by the recent flooding in the Ayawaso Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. The donation comprised 500 bags of rice, 400 cartons of spaghetti, 100 cartons of baked beans, 2,000 blankets, 500 mattresses, 50 cartons of soap, plastic buckets, plates and other essential household items to support displaced families. Presenting the items alongside the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo, the Director General of NADMO, Major Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon (Rtd), reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting communities affected by disasters. He expressed gratitude to Qatar Charity for its timely intervention and solidarity with flood victims. The Country Director of Qatar Charity, Mr. Hasan Owda, said that the donation, made on behalf of the people of Qatar, is part of the organisation’s emergency rapid-response initiative to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities and promote long-term resilience. He further announced that similar relief interventions would be extended to other flood-affected communities across the Greater Accra Region. The relief items were officially handed over to the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, Hon. Abdul Rauf Tongym Tubazu, and the Municipal Chief Executive for the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly, Hon. Rudolf CollingWoode-Williams, for distribution to affected residents.
