NADMO BOSS INAUGURATES SAVANNAH REGIONAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The newly inaugurated committee comprises representatives from key institutions and agencies with expertise in disaster management.
The committee is mandated to harness this expertise in planning, coordinating, and implementing effective measures to prevent and mitigate disasters in the Savannah Region.
In his remarks, Major (Rtd) Dr. Kuyon underscored the importance of teamwork and collaboration in disaster risk reduction and response.
He urged the committee members to utilise their diverse professional backgrounds in developing strategies that would improve prevention and ensure an effective and coordinated response to disasters.
“Disaster management is not the responsibility of a single institution, but a shared duty that requires a united front. The work of this committee will be crucial in safeguarding lives, property, and livelihoods in the region,” he said.
The inauguration forms part of NADMO’s broader commitment to building resilience, fostering inter-agency cooperation, and strengthening institutional capacity for effective disaster risk management across the country.
