NADMO DIRECTOR GENERAL VISITS WENCHI IN THE BONO REGION

The meeting formed part of efforts to gather first-hand information on the plight of displaced persons in the area following the recent Sawla conflict. 
The MCE and Regional Director welcomed the Director General and his delegation and led them to communities where the displaced persons are currently being housed.
During the visit, Major (Rtd) Dr. Kuyon interacted with leaders of the affected groups and assured them of the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns and restoring normalcy. 
He also paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Subinso No. 2, Nana Nangor Pantu II, to express gratitude to him and his elders for opening their communities to the displaced persons and supporting their upkeep.
Nana Nangor Pantu II welcomed the NADMO delegation and highlighted some challenges facing the community, including inadequate food supplies, lack of proper shelter, shortage of mattresses, and limited access to healthcare.
In response, the Director General assured the chief that measures would be taken to alleviate these issues and improve the welfare of the displaced persons.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, also pledged to deploy health personnel to the area and facilitate the registration of the displaced persons onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to ensure their access to local health 
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Director General for Technical, Mr. Ahmed- Rufai Aggudey and the Director of Man-Made Disasters, Mr. Maxwell Emmanuel Niber.
