Courtesy call on NC

The 2-member Gambian delegation who arrived in the country on a 2-week study tour at NADMO have since left for their home country. Hosted by NADMO,the two officers during their stay paid a courtesy call on Brig. Gen. Francis Vib-Sanziri, National Coordinator of NADMO who urged them to usethe tour to learn much about Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). “Feel free to study and socialize with our receptive staff to make your stay a fruitful one”.

He also assured them of a committee that had made arrangements to equipthemwith the necessaryinformation on disaster management in Ghana.

Speaking at a debriefing session at the NADMO Headquarters, Madam OumieSissokho, Head of the delegation commended NADMO for the warm reception granted them and efforts by the organisation toenlighten them on DRR, saying, “This is beyond our expectation”.

She said recommendations put forward would be given to their superiors back in The Gambia for an official invitation to be extended for consultations from NADMO officers to help improve disaster management in their country. Again, shesaid a replica of NADMO’s Emergency Operating Centre (EOC) when established in Gambia, would go a long way to positively improve emergency operations in that country.

Directors and committee members present at the meeting expressed their gratitude to the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) of The Gambia for choosing NADMO as an institution for the study tour.

The National Coordinator, on behalf of NADMO, presented some gifts to the delegation stating that, disaster management in the Sub-Region is a collective agenda therefore, NADMO was ever ready for any support in that regard.
