NADMO Boss Meets Military Forces Staff

The Director General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Major (Rtd) Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon, paid a courtesy call on some officers of the Ghana Armed Forces, comprising the Ghana Navy, Ghana Air Force, and the Military, on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the relationship between NADMO and the Ghana Armed Forces.

In a brief remark, the Director General congratulated the military leadership on the new officer appointments and expressed the importance of serving the country's best interests. 

He stressed the importance of enhancing the partnership between NADMO and the GAF to effectively manage disasters like floods, fires, and earthquakes in the country.

He said such collaboration would also help address Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) issues, stressing the need to build the capacity of officers involved in disaster management.

For his part, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetamu, Chief of the Army Staff, expressed his outfit’s readiness to offer training support for selected NADMO staff during the upcoming Community-based Crisis Management Systems (CCMS) training scheduled to take place at the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). This collaboration is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the disaster management personnel in managing crises effectively and further strengthen the overall preparedness and response strategy.

In a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect, a commemorative plaque was presented to the Director-General of NADMO.

The Director General was accompanied by Dr. Lutfia Jamal, Deputy Director General in charge of Finance and Administration and some NADMO staff.
