I-DIEM Africa Meets Director General of NADMO

The Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management (I-DIEM) Africa recently paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Major (Rtd) Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon.

I-DIEM Africa, a non-governmental organization committed to climate change, community resilience, and disaster preparedness, seeks to empower through training, information, and capacity building to enable communities especially women and children to respond to disaster effectively

The Director General welcomed the guests and shared his vision for disaster management in the country. He emphasized the importance of preparedness and prevention by identifying risks, understanding their causes, and establishing measures for mitigation. He stated that these steps not only help prevent disasters from occurring but also minimize their impact if they do happen.

He noted that the efforts of I-DIEM Africa would play a crucial role in enhancing prevention measures and building capacity for disaster response. The Director General expressed gratitude to the I-DIEM team, led by J. Ekow Rhule, Country Director for Ghana, for their dedication to these important causes. 

He also expressed his enthusiasm for developing a closer collaboration in the future.
