The Director General of NADMO, Major (Rtd) Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon, held an emergency meeting with all NADMO Directors in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) at the NADMO Headquarters in Accra.

The meeting was convened to discuss flooding preparedness in GAMA and prompt directors to activate the Flood Risk Contingency Plans for the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in anticipation of this year's rainfall. 

The contingency plan outlines the measures designed to mitigate flooding across all MMDAs effectively.

The meeting also discussed the situational report of the heavy rains on Thursday, March 13, which resulted in flooding in several areas of Accra. 

The Director General highlighted the importance of enhancing the skills of data collectors to improve disaster data collection, which is essential for informed decision-making. 

He commended the directors for their hard work and expressed satisfaction with the established systems in place for flood response.
