PRESIDENT NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO ADDO PRESENTS 40 VEHICLES TO NADMO
On Friday, 19th March 2021, His Excellency the President and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a historic visit to the Headquarters of the National Disaster Management Organization in Accra.
The President was there to present forty (40) vehicles comprising one (1) Toyota Camry, one (1) Toyota Haice Clinical Ambulance , one (1) Mercedes Benz Rescue Ambulance, one (1) payloader, five (5) Toyota Landcruiser Prados, and thirty (30) Toyota Hilux pickups to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
Prior to this ceremony, Government had already distributed motorbikes to all the sixteen (16) regions and to the two hundred and sixty (260) metropolitan, municipal and district secretariats of NADMO.
It is worthy to note that, in the course of next month, thirty-two (32) additional pickups will be presented to augment further the fleet of NADMO.
The visit of His Excellency is the first time a sitting President has paid a visit to the organization since it’s inception. This singular gesture re-affirm Mr. Presidents commitment to disaster management.
The Director-General, Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh in his remarks expressed his profound gratitude to His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his tremendous support for the organization enumerating the various successes achieved as a government under disaster management.
Present for the event were the Interior Minister, Hon. Ambrose Dery , the Army Commander Major General Thomas Oppong Peprah , Deputy Chief of Staff Alhaji Fawz Ali , other Service Chiefs as well as management and staff of the organization.
